Volkswagen will be bringing its next-generation TSI turbocharged petrol engine line-up this year, offering more power, improved fuel economy and lower emissions

Volkswagen will be introducing a 1.5-litre TSI engine, it will offer more power, better fuel economy and lower emissions. The new engine is part of a "next-generation" TSI turbocharged petrol engine line-up that will debut at the International Vienna Motor Symposium.

The new engine range is called the EA2111 TSI eco range, the new range of engines is said to offer more power, improved fuel economy and lower emissions. The new engine will arrive on roads later in the year, it will be a 1.5-litre engine, available in 128bhp and 148bhp. The new engine will be replacing the 1.4-litre four-cylinder engine in the current TSI generation.

Volkswagen say new technology in the next-generation TSI petrol engine will offer a wider window of boost, customers will be able to feel the effects from as low as 1300rpm. New technology will also improve cooling and is said to be 10% more efficient than the current engine.
